Placeholders used in syntax descriptions
PlaceholderExplanation
bitsToTestThe value of the bits to test with the Computer command.
classNameA class identifier or an expression that evaluates to
a class identifier.
expressionA series of terms whose value is a Boolean, class identifier, constant, data, date, integer, list, real, record, reference, or string.
gestaltSelectorThe Gestalt selector for the information about the operating environment to be tested with the Computer command.
propertyLabelThe name of a property.
propertyValueAn expression that evaluates to a value of the appropriate class for the property being defined.
referenceListA list of references.
referenceToApplicationA reference to an application.
referenceToContainerA reference to a container.
referenceToDiskA reference to a disk or a list of references.
referenceToLocationA reference to the new location for an object copied with the Duplicate command.
referenceToObjectA reference to an object or a list of references.
referenceToTrashA reference to the Trash.
